P034 → I bring a ‘dangerous’ varnish? Medium & paper experiments (1)
* Screen
Three experiments:
1. Lottery Release Varnish
2. Waterproof Wood Sealer
3. Gloss Medium.
I have prepared laminated posters and matte paper posters. The matte paper posters cannot be directly used with scratch-off coating because it won’t scrape off properly. Therefore, I bought a can of varnish. However, after Gregor checked it, he determined that it couldn’t be used in the screen printing studio. So, he gave me other materials: one is waterproof wood sealer, and the other is gloss medium. I applied both materials on the matte paper and, after they dried, I applied the scratch-off coating. Additionally, I directly applied the coating on the laminated posters. Finally, I will decide which type of poster works best.
*Applying it by hand with a brush caused the paper to be uneven due to its thinness. At least 300g paper is required to withstand the application properly.
