P013 → Research (Movie & Visualization)

There is a movie called Night at the Museum, which tells the story of a night security guard who discovers that the museum's exhibits magically come to life at night. This made me think of live performers who act as statues in some tourist spots. When people get close to touch them or take photos with them, the performers suddenly move, startling people and making them stop.

Living Statues

It got me thinking that because statues are 'inanimate' objects, people feel they can interact with them by touching them. But if the statues were alive, would they actually want to be touched? For instance, David Hume would probably be quite annoyed by people touching him. So, after learning who these statues represent, I tried to view the act of 'rubbing' from their perspective. I even added eyes to these statues, making them appear as if they had 'emotions.'
